Introducing the newest members of Karay Samoyeds..... Lysander (left) and Shanese (right)! Believe me, we didn't plan on two.... but they both had so much we admired, it was impossible to decide between them. And in the few short days they've been with us, we couldn't imagine NOT having them both!

The offspring of AKC CH Echo's Just A Dreamer (sire) and AKC CH Poltergeist's Causin A Riot (dam), they were whelped on January 8, 2004. For those interested in names, Lysander means "Liberator" in Greek and Latin. Lysander was a young Athenian in love with Hermia, if you remember Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Lysander was also the military (Navy) leader who defeated Athens in the Peloponnesian war. Now while our boy's name is historical, our girl's name isn't as dramatic. "Shanese" is derived from the name Chaunie, the call name of our "Goldstar's Don't Stop Me Now", sadly missed but never forgotten.

We are hoping they both continue to exhibit show potential, so if all goes well, watch for them in the near future!
