| El Saar is a registered Egyptian Arabian gelding, with strong overseas lineage. His name translates roughly into "One who goes where Angels fear to tread". We've changed his name slightly so we can pronounce it easier, so now he's called "Alazar". Karen refers to him as her "puppy pony", because he'll follow her everywhere! (Come to think of it, he'll follow anyone who happens to have a carrot, apple, or his favorite.... Altoids!) |

| Karen says Alazar could jump all day if she'd let him. From what I've seen, she's right. One thing is certain, though: He looks good no matter what he's doing. Karen makes this look easy, but only the most experienced of riders could keep Alazar under control. Karen tells me she has to constantly think one step ahead of him, because he "sees" things that aren't there. Regardless, they are well matched for each other. |
